ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AT UIC
Gain a better understanding of the UIC Student Disciplinary Policy’s Academic Integrity section. Participants will understand the various types of violations, possible conduct pathways, and prevention strategies. Student presentations include academic misconduct scenarios while faculty and staff presentations include national research on best practices.

DEAN OF STUDENTS AT UIC
Hear an overview of the various ways the Office of the Dean of Students serves UIC. Participants will receive an introduction to several of the functions housed within the office, including Student Assistance, Community Standards, Student Legal Services, Veterans’ Affairs and the U&I Care Program, and learn how each serves various constituencies throughout campus.

ENGAGING WITH COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Gain a better understanding of the UIC Student Disciplinary Policy’s Standards of Conduct and Resolution Methods. Participants will understand their contract with the community; how to engage in the hearing process; and where they can reach out for guidance.

NEGOTIATING EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS FOR DENTISTS
Learn what to look for when signing your first agreement as an associate dentist or independent contractor. Topics include: compensation structure, restrictive covenants, common mistakes to avoid, and termination. Discusses ways to maximize bargaining power with potential employers.

STUDENT LEGAL SERVICES (SLS) AT UIC
Introduction to the various types of legal cases SLS handles on behalf of students. Also discussed: eligibility for the services, how to set up an appointment, cases the office doesn’t handle, whether fees are involved, and the office confidentiality policy.

STUDENT VETERANS AFFAIRS GENERAL INFORMATION
Learn about the general services of Student Veterans Affairs. Participants will become aware of the various educational benefits awarded student veterans, reservists, and dependents at the state and federal level.

VETERAN AFFAIRS - STUDENT ORIENTATION
This presentation informs current and new students about the process of certifying their GI Bill Benefits at UIC. It will allow students to ask questions pertinent to their specific benefit and meet Student Veterans Affairs staff.
