U and I Care: Respect in Relationships

People come to depend on each other in different ways throughout their lives. Friendships, family, and partnerships are meant to be meaningful and supportive.  They are great avenues for fun conversation and help through life’s challenges.  Everyone deserves healthy, loving, and interdependent relationships. When relationships are going well, they are a positive influence on one’s wellbeing, and it is important to know and practice what these respectful relationships look like. The UIC Wellness Center provides resources communication, boundaries, and consent in relationships. Relationships are meant to be positive experiences, and learning how to navigate the challenges of friendships, family, and romantic relationships is important to one’s overall well-being.  Access more resources about practicing respectful relationships through the UIC Campus Advocacy Network.
