| Description of Hazing Incident(s) | On October 30, 2025, the Office of the Dean of Students received an incident report alleging that the Kappa Pi Beta Fraternity should be investigated for hazing and potential bullying of new and current members at UIC. The Office of the Dean of Students received a follow-up incident report that new members of the fraternity had to assist current members with a party by rearranging furniture, decorating the apartment, carrying heavy objects, and leaving the residence before the party started. Lastly, the Office of the Dean of Students received the last incident report alleging that one of the current members provided a fake ID to a new member who was allegedly underage. During the investigation, the Office of the Dean of Students was able to determine that the following incidents occurred. 1. During the class, when new members were asked questions, if a new member answered a question wrong, they would be asked to do a push-up/burpee for each question wrong. 2. As a part of their assignments in their initiation process, new members were asked to do a mile run. 3. On or around October 31st, the organization members hosted a party for individuals, where new members were asked to assist with setting up. |
